Ooha Pada (ಊಹಾ ಪದ — literally "Guess the Word") is a fast-paced, laughter-filled board game that puts your Kannada vocabulary to the ultimate test. Every round challenges players to describe a Kannada word without using the five forbidden clue words.

The complete rulebook
Easy enough for kids, addictive enough for adults.
Teams
- Played between two teams with at least two players per team.
- Each player takes turns being the clue-giver for their team.
Starting the Game
- One member from a team picks a random card from the deck.
- That player also starts the timer for their turn.
Giving Clues
- Each card has a word at the top the team must guess to score.
- The clue-giver must get their team to guess it without using any of the banned words on the card.
- They can say other related words or phrases to help.
- If a banned word is used, the opposing team (monitoring the card) calls it out.
- Penalty: –1 point, and the current card is skipped.
Guessing Rules
- The team can make unlimited guesses — relevant or irrelevant — with no penalty.
- Once the correct word is guessed, move on to the next card.
- Goal: guess as many cards as possible within the allotted time.
Skipping Cards
- If the clue-giver can't explain the word, they may skip the card.
- Each team is allowed up to 3 skips per turn.
Scoring & Winning
- +1 point for every correct guess.
- –1 point for each banned-word violation.
- When time is up, the next team plays.
- After all players have had a turn as clue-giver, the team with the most points wins.
Additional Rules
- Part of a banned word cannot be used in clues, including plurals.
- Gestures, singing, humming, or whistling are not allowed.
- Abbreviations of banned words are also not permitted.
